At the end of October took place the last event that is part of the FoodPack Lab project, Strand 1.

This event took place in Paris thanks to our project partners Systematic. TECH4FOOD was an event dedicated to the digital transformation of the agricultural and agri-food sector.

The day brought together ecosystem, industrial, academic and institutional actors and people around the Food, Agri-Food and Agritech sectors. TECH4FOOD began with different photonic presentations related to agriculture. Bloc called Precision Agriculture. Next, the challenges of urban agriculture were discussed.A second block talked about traceability, safety, and quality, which was entered with papers on the blockchain, artificial intelligence ...

At the end of the day the program was dedicated to talking about Packaging and product data here were discussed issues of sustainability, compostable products, organic products ...After the presentations, European project witnesses took place, where different Systematic collaborating institutions explained the projects with which they were involved or were involved and what benefits they have gained from this project. 

In this block, Sabine, representing Secpho (photonics cluster), coordinator of the FoodPackLab project, explained to us where the project stands.Sabine explained that this typology of projects helps us to connect companies from different sectors and to collaborate between them. He also said that we are finishing the preparation of a second part of the project in order to internationalize this knowledge obtained about Food & Smart Safety technologies to the countries chosen among all the project collaborators and companies. The countries chosen were South Africa and India.

The FoodPackLab project,  funded by the COSME program of the European Commission, stems from a strategic partnership of 5 clusters that join different activities, industries and countries. It focuses on cooperation for internationalization, offering time and space to different stakeholders to work on innovative solutions to one of the most important challenges facing contemporary society: food security.This type of project form part of one of our strategic axes “Internationalization and global positioning“, allows us to interact with other homologous entities on an international scale, jointly analyze future trends, and jointly work on specific challenges to be solved.
